Prior to joining MFRS at 19, Sean completed his A Levels and initially attended university to study maths. He quickly realised this wasn't the route for him and enrolled on a Level 2 Business Administration apprenticeship within MFRS' People Services team.
I was looking for something that would allow me to develop and grow within a professional environment whilst working towards a qualification that I could subsequently use going forwards. An apprenticeship seemed like the perfect opportunity to learn what a standard 9 to 5 job would be like and whether it would be something I would be interested in doing.
My apprenticeship has allowed me to develop my communication and interpersonal skills by challenging me to overcome situations which I might have previously found stressful. The friendly work environment within MFRS has contributed to a boost in my own self confidence.
