UPDATE: Shop fire in Waterloo Extinguished

Firefighters extinguished a fire in a hair salon.

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called at 11.18pm on Tuesday, April 29, to St John's Road, Waterloo.

Three fire appliances from Crosby Community Fire Station, Bootle and Netherton and Kirkdale community fire stations attended the fire at the hairdresser’s shop.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the blaze and ventilated the premises to clear it of smoke.

One main hose and a hose jet were used to tackle the flames. The fire was extinguished by midnight on the morning of Wednesday, April 30.

Firefighters had left the scene by 1.07am on Wednesday, April 30.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
