Firefighters Help Man From Roof In Bootle

Thursday, 17 July 2014
Hawthorne Road, Bootle
Firefighters were called out after a man got stuck on the roof of a house in Bootle.

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service attended Hawthorne Road at around 10.40am.

A man had climbed on to the roof to fix the television aerial and was unable to get down.

Two fire appliances from Crosby Community Fire Station and Bootle and Netherton Community Fire Station were called out.

Watch Manager Steve Bousfield, of Crosby Community Fire Station, said: "We used a nine metre ladder and a roof ladder. A firefighter went up and checked him over then escorted the man down safely."

The man is not believed to have been injured in the incident.

Firefighters were there for around 40 minutes.
