Fire involving batteries in Gayton, Wirral

Firefighters were called to a fire involving batteries at a property on Baskervyle Road in Gayton, Wirral at 11.34pm on Saturday, September 30.

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called at 11.28pm and crews were alerted 50 seconds later. They were on scene at 11.34pm.

Two fire engines attended the incident and crews wearing breathing apparatus used a CO2 extinguisher to put the fire out.

Firefighters then ventilated the area. No-one was injured.

A quantity of batteries sustained fire damage and a ground-floor room in the property was damaged by fire, heat and smoke.

Firefighters remained at the scene for around 25 minutes.
