Utlity room fire in Maghull

Firefighters were called to a fire in a utility room in Windermere Drive, Deyes Lane, Maghull on Thursday October 19.

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called at 7.49am and crews were alerted at 7.50am. They were on scene at 7.57am.

Two fire engines attended the incident, which involved a washing machine in a ground floor utility room.

Crews used a hose reel jet and a CO2 extinguisher to put the fire out. They then ventilated the affected areas.

No-one was injured.

The utility room was damaged by fire and the kitchen and remainder of the ground floor were damaged by smoke.

Firefighters remained at the scene for around an hour and carried out a home fire safety check.
