Kitchen fire in Birkenhead

Firefighters were called to a fire at a property on Warrender Drive in Birkenhead at 12.14am on Monday, November 6.

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called at 12.07pm and crews were alerted at 12.08pm. They were on scene at 12.14pm.

Two fire engines attended the incident, which involved a fire in the kitchen of the property.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a high-pressure hose reel to extinguish the fire. They then ventilated the area using a PPV fan.

One person was checked at the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital for further checks.

A chip pan and its contents, the kitchen of the property and the living room sustained fire damage.

The living room and first floor of the property were damaged by smoke.

Firefighters remained at the scene for around 90 minutes.
