Bathroom fire in West Derby

Firefighters were called to a fire at a property on Deysbrook Lane in West Derby on Tuesday, November 7.

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called at 11.05pm and crews were alerted at 11.08pm. They were on the scene at 11.13pm.

Two fire engines attended the incident, which involved a fire in the bathroom of the property.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. They then ventilated the area.

One person suffered smoke inhalation.

The first floor bathroom sustained severe fire damage and timbers in the roof space were also damaged by fire.

The ground floor was damaged by heat and the rest of the property sustained some water damage.

Firefighters remained at the scene for around 75 minutes.
