House fire in Woolton

Firefighters were called to a kitchen fire in a house on Church Road, Woolton, on Saturday, December 9.

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called at 12.21am and crews were alerted at 12.22am. They were on the scene at 12.29am.

Two fire engines attended the incident, which is believed to have involved a first floor boiler cupboard.

Crews, wearing breathing apparatus, used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire and ventilated the property.

The boiler cupboard and its contents suffered severe fire damage while the rest of the first floor was severely damaged by smoke. The kitchen and lounge ceilings were also damaged by the fire.

No-one was injured in the incident.

Firefighters remained at the scene for around an hour and a half.
