Fly-tipped rubbish fire in Wallsey, Wirral

Fire crews attended a fly tipped rubbish fire in an alleyway between Clarendon Road and Falkland Road in Wallasey on the Wirral earlier this afternoon.

Crews were alerted at 1.45pm and were on scene at 1.52pm.

The fire began with an abandoned sofa and later spread to nearby fencing and a tree.

One fire engine attended the scene. Firefighters used an extension ladder and a high pressure hose reel to extinguish the blaze.

Crews were at the scene for around 20 minutes.
