Kitchen fire in St Helens

Firefighters were called to a kitchen fire at a property on Fleet Lane in St Helens at 4.40pm on Thursday, February 8.

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called at 4.35pm and crews were alerted at 4.36pm. They were on scene at 4.40pm.

Two fire engines attended the incident and crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. They then ventilated the area and carried out a Home Fire Safety Check.

A pan was damaged by fire and a hob, extractor and a number of cupboards sustained heat damage. The kitchen of the property was damaged by smoke.

Firefighters fitted three new smoke alarms and remained at the incident for around 30 minutes.
