Fire at factory unit in Toxteth, Liverpool

Firefighters were called to a fire involving an electric vacuum pump at a factory unit on Crown Street in Toxteth, Liverpool at 4.16am on Monday, February 12.

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called at 4.09am and crews were alerted at 4.10am. They were on scene at 4.16am.

Two fire engines attended the incident and crews wearing breathing apparatus used a high pressure hose reel and a CO2 extinguisher to put the fire out.

No-one was injured. An electric vacuum pump, a quantity of wiring and a light fitting was damaged by fire and heat.

Fire crews remained at the incident for around one hour and 35 minutes.
