Rescue at Liverpool waterfront

Pier Head

Fire and rescue crews have attended an incident at Liverpool's Pier Head this afternoon involving the rescue of one person from the River Mersey.

Crews were alerted at 12.26pm and were at the scene at 12.35pm. Two fire engines and the search and rescue team attended.

The MFRS rescue boat Marine Fire One was deployed and rescued one person from the water conscious and breathing, who was assessed by paramedics and taken to hospital for further treatment.

Crews remained on the scene for just under half an hour.
