Road traffic collision in Crank, St Helens

Firefighters were called to a road traffic collision at Gores Lane in Crank, St Helens on Wednesday, 21st February.

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service were on the scene at 4.30pm.

Two fire engines and the search and rescue team attended the incident. On arrival they discovered a vehicle in a precarious position on a bridge.

Fire crews secured the vehicle using a winch and a general purpose line. They then extracted two people and administered first aid and oxytherapy while waiting for ambulance crews.

Two people were taken to Aintree Hospital with serious injuries.

Crews were on scene for nearly three hours.
