Three people rescued following flat fire in Concert Square

Firefighters are currently in attendance at Concert Square in Liverpool City Centre following reports of a flat fire.

Crews were alerted at 1.58am on Friday 15th February and on scene at 2.05am. Four fire engines are in attendance along with the aerial appliance and support pump.

On arrival crews discovered a fire on the third floor of the property. Six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property.

Two people have been rescued from the second floor balcony by ladder and a third person has been rescued by crews inside the property.

All three people have been assessed at the scene by paramedics from North West Ambulance Service and taken to hospital for precautionary checks.

The fire has now been extinguished by crews using hose reel jets and ventilation is in progress. Crews are continuing to search the remainder of the property.

An investigation into the cause of the fire will be carried out in due course.

Crews remain at the scene.

UPDATE 7.20am

Crews left the scene at 4.55am. A joint investigation with Merseyside Police will take place into the cause of the fire.
