Person rescued after fall at Earlestown Station

Fire crews were called to Earlestown Railway Station on Tuesday 23rd April following reports that a person had fallen off a platform.

Crews were alerted at 12.57pm and on scene at 1.03pm. Two fire engines and the search and rescue appliance attended.

On arrival, crews found one person had fallen between the platform and a stationary train.

Crews extricated the casualty using a scoop stretcher before passing the casualty into the hands of North West Ambulance Service. The person, who was not thought to be seriously injured, was taken to hospital by for precautionary checks.

Crews left the scene at 1.43pm.
