Three animals rescued from house fire in St Helens

Firefighters were called to a fire at a house on Woodlands Road, St Helens, on Sunday 12th May.

Crews were alerted at 8.45pm and on scene at 8.49pm. Two fire engines attended.

On arrival crews found a fire in the kitchen of the property. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property under rapid deployment to prevent the fire from spreading. Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

One person was given oxygen at the scene by crews before being assessed by paramedics.

Firefighters rescued a dog, bearded dragon and a hamster from the property.

Crews left the scene at 10.40pm.
