Three people released from overturned car, M57

Firefighters attended a road traffic collision on the M57 on Sunday 7th July.

Crews were alerted at 8.40pm and on scene at 8.47pm. Two fire engines attended, as well as the search and rescue appliance.

Merseyside Police and North West Ambulance Service also attended.

On arrival crews found one vehicle on its roof in a ditch off the motorway slipway at junction 6. Three people were still inside the vehicle.

Crews set up a rope system to allow access to the ditch. They then used hydraulic cutting equipment to release the three people inside the vehicle, using a basket stretcher to bring them to the roadside.

All three people were handed into the care of paramedics and taken to hospital for further treatment.

Fire crews left the scene at 9.50pm.
