Malicious &
Hoax Calls
Every
day Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service's Mobilising and Communication's Centre
(MACC) receives malicious or hoax calls, reporting incidents when there isn't one.
Malicious
and hoax calls to the Fire & Rescue Service not only waste time and resources,
but can put lives at risk.
Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service has launched a campaign to tackle hoax callers.
As part of the campaign,
we have published actual hoax calls on our website.
Merseyside
Fire & Rescue Service has the power to disconnect mobile phones from the networks
if they believe a hoax call has been made from it.
Malicious
and hoax calls to the Fire & Rescue Service can result in a fine of up to 5000
or a prison sentence.
