FOREWORD
Merry Christmas and welcome to the last edition of Hot News for 2014.
December is a time when I, as Editor, look back at our Hot News editions and look forward to the New Year and what is to come. Once again we have had a year where we have covered some fantastic work by the Service as well as individual stories on rescues, prevention work and achievements. A Watch Commendation has been presented for one of these rescues – more on that can be found on Page 6.
On a more festive note, to mark staff taking part in the Santa Dash in Liverpool again this year, we have included a Christmas Quiz in this edition.
We always try to include as much as possible in the editions of Hot News as well as providing as much of a balance as possible across areas and districts.
Please do continue to send stories, photos and any other suggestions for the magazine in. We take a break now with the next edition of Hot News being published in February.
Wishing you all a Happy New Year.

Our Service’s annual Christmas carol service will be held on Tuesday, December 16, at Our Lady and St Nicholas Church, Pier Head in Liverpool. The Service starts at 7pm. It includes the Inspire Choir, made up of staff volunteers, and Father Christmas. Please invite your family and friends.
