Firefighters from Blue Watch at Southport Community Fire Station hand delivered food to homeless people in Southport.
The firefighters held their annual Christmas dinner in December and there was a large amount of food left over. Rather than waste the
food, the firefighters dished it on to plates, which they gave out to a number of homeless people in Southport as a Christmas dinner.
Watch Manager Dave Shanahan, of Blue Watch at Southport Community Fire Station, said: “All too often too much food is cooked on Christmas
dinner day and a lot goes straight into the bin.
“Acting on suggestions from the firefighters on the watch it was great to see some of this food being shared with some of the homeless
people in Southport.”
