Waste paper fire at printing factory
Crews were at the scene for just over two hours.
Firefighters were called to a fire involving a large quantity of waste paper at a printing plant on Hercules Drive in Speke, Liverpool.
Two fire engines attended the incident, which involved an industrial skip containing around one-and-a-half tonnes of waste paper on fire.
Firefighters used a hose reel branch and a main branch to extinguish the fire, which originated in a paper extraction system.
The waste paper was severely damaged by fire.
A quantity of ducting was severely damaged by heat and smoke. No-one was injured.
Firefighters remained at the scene for just over two hours.
Crews rescue 92-year-old from house fire
Firefighters rescued a 92-year-old woman from a fire at a house on Walton Hall Avenue in Walton, Liverpool.
Two fire engines attended the incident, which involved a fire in the lounge of the property.
Crews rescued a 92-year-old female occupier and gave her oxygen. She was assessed at the scene by
paramedics and taken to Aintree Hospital for
further checks.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
A quantity of clothing was damaged by fire along with the living room wall and carpet.
The remainder of the property was severely damaged by smoke.
Crews remained at the scene for around one hour.
