Firefighters were called to a fire at a derelict pub on Summer Seat in Vauxhall, Liverpool in February.
One fire engine from Kirkdale Community Fire Station, another from Toxteth Community Fire Station and two further fire engines from Birkenhead Community Fire Station and Wallasey Community Fire Station attended the scene.
The first and second floors of the three- storey building were well alight when crews arrived.
Firefighters wearing rope access gear used a combined platform ladder and main jets to tackle the fire.
They removed tiles, dampened down the building and checked the ground floor for areas of heat. They remained at the scene for around two-and-a-half hours.
The incident was handed over to Liverpool City Council who secured the building.
Our cover stars this month are some of the MFRS Officers who have recently celebrated over 20 years’ service during which time they have demonstrated good character and conduct.
Family and friends celebrated at the ceremony held on 3rd February at Aintree Racecourse, where a group of officers were presented with the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal by Chief Fire Officer, Dan Stephens.
The awards ceremony was preceded by a fascinating historical presentation delivered by Simon Ryan, custodian of the MFRS Heritage and Education Centre, detailing some of the history of the Service, including the blitz during WWII and those distant days when Firefighters were paid in beer!
Also present was Brian Airey, of the Liverpool Shipwreck & Humane Society, who presented two HMP Walton Prison Officers with bravery awards for their actions
in rescuing a prisoner from a fire in July 2015.

During January 2016 FRS crews rescued ten people from road traffic collisions and five people from accidental dwelling fires. Please note: The Whiston station area is now covered by Belle Vale, Huyton and Eccleston. However, the Whiston fire appliance is still operational.
Crews used a combined platform ladder to tackle the fire.
