Firefighters in Merseyside have carried out a number of car washes in aid of The Fire Fighters Charity.
A car wash was held on a Saturday at Heswall Community Fire Station and firefighters raised £500. The charity mascot Blaze Bear was also there to support the event.
There was also a car wash held by White Watch at Southport Community Fire Station with the help of Carly Wheeler, of The Prince’s Trust Team Programme. The car wash raised more than £180 for the charity.
The funds raised for The Fire Fighters Charity wil help to provide rehabilitation along with a range of support for firefighters, MF&RS staff, retired firefighters and family members.
There are three rehabilitation centres in Harcombe House in Devon, Jubilee House in Cumbria and Marine House in
West Sussex, which cost the charity around £9m a year to run.
The Fire Fighters Charity offers rehabilitation seven days a week at two of its centres, Harcombe House and Jubilee House.
