Beacon Mentor Scheme

A unique project has been set up between Merseyside, London and Cleveland to share experiences in community fire safety, particularly relating to older people. The three Fire and Rescue Services have set up a peer mentoring partnership so they can learn from each other.

The scheme involved exchange visits between fire personnel to each of the brigades and is a follow on from the Beacon Status for “Services for Older People that was awarded to MF&RS in 2004.
