Title: What is Beacon?
The BEACON and LIFE courses both have great things to offer Young People.

  • The BEACON Project is run during school term time and young people attend 2 days a week for 12 weeks.
  • The L.I.F.E. Project runs during the school holidays and young people attend a 1 day taster day or a 1 week programme.

Both courses consist of:

  • Teambuilding Activities
  • Fire Safety Awareness
  • Fire Fighting Drills
  • First Aid Awareness
  • Outdoor Pursuits

The TEAMBUILDING is designed to help young people gain confidence in their group, to build trust and tolerance in fellow team members and to get you warmed up at the start of the day. It is also a good laugh!

The FIRE SAFETY is there to show young people how dangerous fires can be and the simple things you can do to keep themselves and their families safe. Sessions are designed to be small and quick classroom based activities.

The FIRE FIGHTING is just like it sounds. Young People get dressed in fire kit and participate in numerous activities. These include; , using hose, opening hydrants, using fire extinguishers, using foam, Breathing Apparatus and even, fighting a 40ft wall of flame!
