Chip pan fire in St Helens

Firefighters were called to a kitchen fire at a property on Lyon Street in St Helens at 4.22pm on Thursday, January 25.

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called at 4.16pm and crews were alerted at 4.17pm. They were on scene at 4.22pm.

Two fire engines attended the incident, which involved a chip pan on fire.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. They then ventilated the area using a PPV fan.

No-one was injured.

A chip pan was damaged by fire and heat. The property sustained smoke damage.

Firefighters remained at the incident for around 30 minutes.
