Waste compactor fire in Speke, Liverpool

Firefighters were called to a fire involving a waste compactor at premises on Dakota Drive in Speke at 2.37pm on Monday, January 29.

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called at 2.30pm and crews were alerted at 2.32pm. They were on scene at 2.37pm.

Two fire engines attended the incident and crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

They then dampened down the area. No-one was injured.

A quantity of industrial conveyer belt was damaged by fire.

Fire crews remained at the incident for around 45 minutes.
