Washing machine fire in Gateacre, Liverpool

Firefighters were called to a fire involving a washing machine at a property on Dronfield Way in Gateacre, Liverpool at 8.16pm on Monday, February 26.

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called at 8.11pm and crews were alerted at 8.13pm. They were on scene at 8.16pm.

Two fire engines attended the incident and crews used a CO2 extinguisher to put the fire out.

No-one was injured.

A washing machine was damaged by fire and the ground floor of the property sustained smoke damage.

Firefighters ventilated the property, fitted new smoke alarms and gave advice to occupiers.

They remained at the incident for around 20 minutes.
