This course is suitable for supervisors, managers and safety representatives and provides a broad understanding of health and safety issues equipping learners to contribute to more effective management of workplace risk.
The award comprises of three modules:
Unit NG1 - Elements Covered - in preparation for the Open Book Examination
- Why we should manage workplace health and safety
- How health and safety management systems work and what they look like
- Managing risk – understanding people a
- nd processes
- Health and safety monitoring
Unit NG2 – Elements covered - in preparation for the practical assessment
- Physical and psychological health
- Musculoskeletal health
- Chemical and biological agents
- General Workplace issues
- Work equipment
- Fire
- Electricity
Duration
This course is delivered over two weeks:
- Week 1 – NG1 (Monday to Friday)
- Week 2 – NG2 (Monday to Friday)
- Practical Examination - Open Book Examination
- Closing Interview (post examination)
How is the course assessed:
- Open book examination (NG1) (exam open for 24hours)
- Practical Examination (NG2) which must be completed and submitted within 2 two weeks of the written exam
- Closing Interview post examination – arranged via MS Teams or Zoom
