Bin fire, Brookside Avenue

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service is in attendance at an incident on Brookside Avenue, Liverpool.

Crews were alerted at 2.43pm following reports of an automatic fire alarm at a high rise building.  Four fire engines and an aerial appliance arrived on scene shortly after.

On arrival crews found an 11 storey block of flats with a bin fire in a bin store area on the ground floor. The fire was extinguished and the bin was removed from the storage room.

Crews remain on scene to check properties for smoke spread and are working to ventilate the building.
