Location: Earle Street, Newton-le-Willows
Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service is currently in attendance at a building collapse on Earle Street, Newton-le-Willows.
Crews were alerted at 3.15pm and on scene shortly after. Two fire engines are in attendance, as well as the search and rescue appliance and Service drone.
On arrival crews found a three storey building, approximately 30m x 40m, in a state of repair. The rear of the building had collapsed.
A cordon has been put in place and Earle Street has been closed by police.
The incident is ongoing. Please avoid the area.
UPDATE 5.14PM
The incident has been scaled down and is in the process of being handed over to Merseyside Police. Fire crews are expected to leave the scene shortly.
