Location: Fenwick Street, Liverpool
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service (MFRS) attended an incident on Fenwick Street, Liverpool, on the evening of Tuesday 16th September.
Crews were alerted at 20.49 and on scene at 20.54 with two fire engines attending.
This was in response to reports of smoke issuing from a four-storey building, consisting of shops and a hotel to the ground floor, and flats above.
Firefighters liaised with onsite security, before isolating the electrics.
A covering branch was laid out at scene with two firefighters in breathing apparatus (BA) standing by.
Following a comprehensive search, firefighters located the source of origin, believed to be between an external wood fascia and the original brickwork of the building, with the remains of the fire located between plasterboard and the original brick wall within the kitchen area of the restaurant.
One hose reel jet was used, and Fire Service personnel removed splash back panels to confirm no further fire spread.
A full 360 of the building was then carried out in addition to adjacent properties, with no a signs of smoke or fire.
At 23.09, the remains of fire was fully extinguished. MFRS crews left the scene at 00.10 on the morning of Wednesday 17th September.
