Building fire, Liscard

Location: St Albans Road, Liscard

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service is currently in attendance at a building fire on St Albans Road, Liscard.

Crews were alerted at 18.21 on Monday 27th September and on scene at 18.24pm. Six fire engines are in attendance as well as the combined platform ladder appliance.

The incident involves a five storey brick building, approx. 50 x 20m.

The fire has been located on the ground floor and extinguished using a hose reel jet.

However, smoke is still issuing from top floor, firefighters are commencing search of all other floors systematically, with 6 breathing apparatus in use and two hose reel jets in place.

Tactical plan has been established and the incident is ongoing.

UPDATE 19:15

Breathing apparatus has now ceased and search is being completed with no sign of secondary fires.

Firefighters in respirators are now completing a search audit.

Search of the building is now complete and all persons accounted for. Fire now extinguished.

Following a hot debrief, all crews had left the scene by 20.10pm.
