Location: Moreton, Wirral
Fire crews were called to a bungalow fire at Berrylands Close in Moreton, Wirral this evening.
Crews were alerted at 6.12pm and on scene at 6.18pm.
Four fire engines and an aerial appliance are in attendance.
Crews arrived to find a bungalow well alight. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued a person from the bungalow as firefighting with a hose reel jet and main branch hose continued.
The casualty was given oxygen by crews before being treated by paramedics.
Six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus continued to fight the fire with two main branch hoses and a hose reel jet.
Five adjoining properties have been evacuated or confirmed empty.
Crews are now damping down, checking for hot spots and any fire spread.
The casualty has been taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Service.
