Location: Liverpool Road, Huyton
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service attended an incident on Liverpool Road, Huyton, on the evening of Wednesday 19th February.
Crews were alerted at 17.23 and on scene at 17.30, with three fire engines attending.
This was a fire located to the ground floor of a commercial premises. Two firefighters in breathing apparatus (BA) were committed to the property with one hose reel jet under rapid deployment to prevent escalation.
A further two firefighters in BA were committed to the first floor accommodation with one hose reel jet. One covering branch was set up.
Merseyside Police attended to manage cordons while firefighting and searching continued.
The owner of the commercial premises arrived shortly after and informed Fire Service personnel that no persons were staying in the property.
Crews confirmed all persons were accounted for and continued firefighting activities to the ground floor.
The utilities to the premises were isolated and the fire was extinguished. Ventilation then took place and crews damped down the scene.
Following an external handover, crews left at 19.00.
