Derelict building fire, Pall Mall, Liverpool City Centre

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service is currently in attendance at a derelict building fire on Pall Mall, Liverpool City Centre.

Crews were alerted at 18.25 and on scene at 18.29. Five fire engines are currently in attendance as well as an aerial appliance.

On arrival crews found a fire on the 2nd floor of a four storey building. Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus (BA) are using one high pressure hose reel jet to tackle the fire.

The aerial appliance is being set up to check for fire spread, while a second BA team have been committed onto the third floor.

Water supply is currently being established while the ground floor and first floor have been fully searched and clear. Second and third floors are being searched by 4 firefighters in BA.

The fire has now been extinguished on the 2nd floor with a full search of floors 2 and 3 now completed. The aerial appliance has been deployed to check the roof area for potential fire spread.

The aerial appliance is no longer in use and the incident is expected to be scaled down to two fire engines shortly.

Crews remain at scene, please avoid the area.
