Location: Rainhill, St Helens
Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service have been called to a building fire at Rainhill Road, Rainhill.
Crews were alerted at 4.28pm and on scene at 4.35pm. Five fire engines, an aerial appliance and Service Drone are in attendance.
Crews arrived to find a derelict building measuring 50m by 30m well alight on the first floor and roof space.
The incident has been sectorised and four fire fighters wearing breathing apparatus began fighting the fire using a main jet hose. The aerial appliance is being used to take temperature readings.
Merseyside Police are in attendance managing road closures on Rainhill Road and Elton Head Road.
