Derelict factory fire, St. Helens

Fire crews were called to a fire at a derelict factory on Prescot Road, St. Helens on Wednesday 15th July. Crews were on scene at 11.20pm, with four fire engines in attendance.

Crews arrived to find a derelict factory site with one building involved in a fire measuring 20 metres by 20 metres. Firefighters made good progress with main branch hoses.

The fire was extinguished by 1.14am and scaled back to three fire engines. Crews damped down the area and checked for hot spots.

Merseyside Police were in attendance assisting with road closures and as the incident scaled down, the road closures were lifted.

Crews left the scene at 2.44am on Thursday 16th July.
