Disused building fire, Waterloo

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service are currently in attendance at a three storey disused building fire on the junction of Haigh Road and Park Road, Waterloo.

Crews were alerted at 16.07 and on scene at 16.16. There are currently six engines at scene as well as the aerial appliance and high volume pump.

This is a well-developed fire affecting all three floors of the building, approximately 100m x 50m.

The incident is sectorised as follows: Sector 1 – two main jets in use. Sector 2 – the aerial appliance is be prepared for use.

Merseyside Police are also in attendance to assist with traffic management.

This incident is ongoing. Please avoid the area. Residents nearby should keep doors and windows closed. If you have an existing medical condition please keep medicines or treatment nearby and if any ill effects are experienced dial NHS 111.
