Location: Wavertree
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service (MFRS) attended an incident on Smithdown Road, Wavertree on the morning of Friday 24 October.
Crews were alerted at 04.57 and on scene at 05.04 with four fire engines attending.
On arrival, this was a confirmed fire in a three-storey building currently under renovation, consisting of a ground floor commercial premises and flats above.
An initial two firefighters in breathing apparatus (BA) were committed to fight the fire and search the property.
Residents in the neighbouring flats were able to self-evacuate and all persons were accounted for.
The fire was located to a flat on the first floor, a total of four firefighters in BA were committed with two hose reel jets. A covering jet was also laid out.
At 06.11, the fire was extinguished and crews damped down the affected area, with ventilation taking place.
This incident was significantly scaled down to two fire engines, before a further engine was released at 07.03 this morning. One fire engine remained in attendance at this time.
Fire Service personnel continued to monitor conditions at scene.
Scottish Power also attended and isolated the electrics to the premises.

Crews continued to monitor temperatures at scene with readings at ambient levels. No hotspots were detected. Firefighters made up their equipment and left the scene at 11.09.
