Location: Lister Drive, Green Lane, Tuebrook
Fire crews have been called to a fire at a 3 storey block of flats on Lister drive, Green Lane Tuebrook this morning.
Fire Crews were alerted at 6.15am and on scene at 6.21am. 6 fire engines and a Combined Platform Ladder are in attendance.
Crews arrived to find the top floor involved in fire and immediately a team of 2 firefighters wearing Breathing Apparatus entered the building to fight the fire and search for any occupants.
As the roof of the building became involved in the fire the Combined Platform Ladder is being used to fight the fire from above.
There are now two teams of two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus fighting the fire with hose reel jets inside the building and a main branch hose fighting the fire externally.
Road closures and cordons are in place so traffic congestion is likely, motorists should avoid the area.
INCIDENT UPDATE 8.50am
All persons are now accounted for and Breathing Apparatus use has ceased. Firefighters are checking for hotspots, damping down and checking for fire spread.
