Location: Sir Thomas Street, Liverpool City Centre
Firefighters are currently in attendance at a fire in a high rise flat on Sir Thomas Street in Liverpool City Centre.
Crews were alerted at 4.54pm and on scene at 4.59pm. Four fire engines and the aerial appliance are in attendance.
On arrival crews found a fire in a flat on the second floor of the building.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus have forced entry to the affected flat and have extinguished the fire.
Crews are now checking for hot spots and ventilating the flat.
Two further flats have been checked but are unaffected by the fire. There is light smoke logging in the corridor.
Cordons have been put in place and buses are being rerouted.
UPDATE 6PM
Crews are currently making up equipment and are expected to leave the scene shortly.
It is not believed there are any injuries.
