Fire crews have been called to a fire at a high rise building used for student accommodation on Lower Gill Street in Liverpool City Centre.
Crews were alerted at 10.03pm and on scene at 10.07pm. Five fire engines and an aerial appliance are in attendance.
Crews arrived to find a confirmed fire on the first floor in a kitchen area. Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire with a main branch hose and CO2 extinguishers.
The first floor was fully evacuated and a fan used to clear the area of smoke. A roll call of further floors continues.
There are no reports of any injuries.
