House fire, Childwall

Firefighters attended a fire at a property on Bowring Park Avenue, Childwall, on Monday 25th November.

Crews were alerted at 0.43am and on the scene at 0.45am. Four fire engines attended the incident.

On arrival crews found a fire well alight in the property.

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire, with two additional firefighters using hose reel jets to fight the fire externally.

Two people suffered slight smoke inhalation, with one being administered oxygen therapy by fire crew. Both were later assessed at the scene by North West Ambulance Service before being taken to hospital.

It is believed the fire started accidentally and involved a tea light. The first floor of the property sustained severe fire damage and the rest of the house was damaged by smoke.

Firefighters left the scene at 3.59am.
