House Fire, Hale Drive, Speke

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service attended an incident on Hale Drive, Speke on the morning of Tuesday 11th March.

Crews were alerted at 10.52 and on scene at 10.58, with four fire engines attending at the height of the incident for breathing apparatus (BA) and personnel.

On arrival, crews found the roof space to a semi-detached property fully involved in fire. Four firefighters in BA were committed using two hose reel jets to fight the fire.

Merseyside Police and North West Ambulance Service also attended.

A safety branch was laid out and the adjoining property was confirmed as empty.

Crews made good progress, with two firefighters in BA hotspotting the roof space. The fire was extinguished at 12.21, and crews continued to hotspot with one hose reel jet, monitoring temperatures at scene.

Scottish Power were requested and attended shortly after to isolate the electricity to the property.

Home Fire Safety Checks were carried out at neighbouring properties by Fire Service personnel, and crews removed any loose roof tiles from the affected property to make the scene safe.

The scene was then handed over to Merseyside Police, and crews left at 13.30.
