House fire, Kensington

Location: Esher Road, Kensington

Firefighters were called to a house fire on Esher Road, Kensington, on Sunday 8th November.

Crews were alerted at 2.56pm and on scene at 3pm. Three fire engines attended.

On arrival crews found the ground floor hallway of the house to be well alight. 

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property under rapid deployment and used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

One person was assessed at the scene by paramedics but did not require hospital treatment. Unfortunately a cat was found deceased in the property.

Firefighters also checked neighbouring properties for fire spread, of which there wasn't any.

It is believed the fire started accidentally and was caused by an electrical fault.

The ground floor of the property was severely damaged by fire, with the remainder of the property suffering serious smoke damage.

Fire crews left the scene at 5.32pm.
