House fire, Thomas Drive, Liverpool

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service (MFRS) is in attendance at an incident on Thomas Drive, Liverpool, on the morning of Tuesday 16 June.

Crews were alerted at 05.54 and on scene at 06.00, with three fire engines attending.

On arrival this was a traditional two storey semi-detached property, with the ground floor involved in fire.

Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus (BA) were committed with one hose reel jet to search, locate, and extinguish the fire.

A second team in BA entered the property to search for saveable life. One occupant was rescued and conveyed into the care of North West Ambulance Service (NWAS), before being transported to hospital.

MFRS crews continued to fire fight and search the premises, checking the loft for fire spread.

The fire was extinguished at 06.30, and all persons have been accounted for.

Crews are making up their equipment, with Fire Service personnel conducting home fire safety checks at the neighbouring properties.

Firefighters left the scene at 09.28.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
