House fire, Walton

Location: Romley Street, Walton, Liverpool

MFRS were called to an incident in Romley Street, Walton, on Monday, 8th February.

Crews were alerted at 1.55pm and on scene at 2.02pm.

Four engines and an aerial appliance attended.

On arrival, crews found a two-storey mid-terraced property to be well alight.

Firefighters used high pressure hose reel jets to tackle the fire, then checked neighbouring properties before hot spotting and damping down.

One person was out of the property prior to MFRS’ arrival; the person was taken to hospital by NWAS suffering burns and smoke inhalation but the injuries are not thought to be serious. There were no other injuries.

The ground floor kitchen was severely damaged by fire and the rest of the house sustained severe smoke damage.

MFRS left the scene at 4.40pm.
