Large grass fire, Rimrose Valley


Location: Rimrose Valley, Seaforth

Firefighters are currently in attendance at Rimrose Valley, Seaforth

Crews were called shortly before 1pm to reports of a fire involving a large amount of vegetation.

Three fire engines are currently in attendance.

Approximately 2,000 square metres of vegetation is believed to be involved in fire.

Firefighters are using high pressure hose reel jets and beaters.

There is a large amount of smoke as a result of the fire. Nearby residents and businesses are advised to keep their windows and doors closed. Anyone with existing medical conditions should keep medicines nearby and call NHS 111 if ill effects occur.

The incident is ongoing.


The main body of the fire has now been extinguished and crews are checking for hot spots using pac liders and beaters.
