Marine incident, Georges Parade, Liverpool City Centre

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service attended an incident in the early hours of Wednesday 18th May at Georges Parade, Canada Boulevard, Liverpool City Centre.

Crews were alerted at 12.36am and on scene at 12.44am. Two fire engines and the Search and Rescue Team attended.

An incident has occurred whereby a tugboat has collided with the Mersey Ferries landing stage in Liverpool, as well as our MFRS Marine Fire 1 Rescue boat at our River Mersey Community Fire and Rescue Station.

No casualties have been reported and all persons have been accounted for.                                                                                                                                                                        

Multi-agency meetings involving ourselves, Mersey Ferries, MCA and local authorities have been set up, taking place throughout the night. An investigation into the cause of this incident is underway.
